'Crystal Dream plays U2' is a fantastic musical experience supported by great sound, spectacular lighting, atmospheric video images and up to two and a half hours filled with the biggest hits of the Irish rock band U2.

 

'Crystal Dream plays U2' takes you on a musical journey through the best U2 songs. The tribute is performed by the well known Dutch band Crystal Dream, which was founded in 1992. This well-oiled machine consists of four musicians who are able to bring the typical U2 sound and feel to the audience in a passionate way. The band members stay true to themselves but never lose respect for the intense way U2 lives and performs their music.
Crystal Dream is energetic, tight, but above all an unbelievable live band that puts you under its spell, right from the beginning till the very last chord.

 

'Crystal Dream plays U2' was launched in 2005 and continues to play successfully at leading Dutch venues, various festivals and events. Along the way 'Crystal Dream plays U2' has grown towards being one of the best booked and most appreciated tribute bands in Holland, regulary undertaking sold-out concerts. The band excels in its musical capacities as well as with audience interaction, being able to rock in a sensitive and warm way. A must-see for every U2 fan and music lover.

In 2009 the new U2 album 'No Line On The Horizon' is being released and singer Marcel and guitarist Rues are asked again to play for the Dutch U2 Fanclub. More than three quarters of an hour, the duo is able to captivate the audience with U2 songs in an acoustic setting…

 

The third time at the Dutch U2 Fanclubday.
In 2011 Crystal Dream plays for the third time at the Dutch U2 Fanclubday at Club P60 in Amstelveen which is unique for dutch standards. Crystal Dream is very focused and exceeds the audiences high expectations.

 

Opening Gala Anton Corbijn's 'The American'
During the Opening Gala of Anton Corbijn's movie 'The American' Crystal Dream plays U2's 'Running To Stand Still' and 'Window Of My Eyes' (Cuby and The Blizzards) a song that's on the movie's Soundtrack. A lot of U2-fanatics amongst the audience were very positive about Crystal Dream's performance.

 

Anton Corbijn is responsible for a lot of U2's artwork and photography. The albumcovers of The Joshua Tree, Rattle & Hum, Achtung Baby, POP as well as many videoclips were of his hands.

...While the intro tune plays, over 450 fans gather in front of the stage to see the headliner Crystal Dream play their U2 Tribute.
From that moment on the club goes crazy. The band rocks like hell and lead singer Marcel, is able to move the fans just by NOT imitating Bono and touches the audience by singing a little duet with one of the youngest U2 fans. The gig is dynamic and has a lot of feel. With the right guitar licks and a tight rhythm section, Crystal Dream can be called the best U2-coverband in Holland...
